Ammonium Chloride is an inorganic, Odorless mildly acidic, white crystalline salt with the formula NH4Cl, and molecular weight 53.50, that is soluble in alcohol , highly soluble in water, Liquid ammonia and acetone. It has a density of 1.53. It has a melting point of 338°C and a boiling point 520°C. Ammonium Chloride is used as a fluxing agent in refining process of zinc metal and in the process of hot dip galvanizing of steel metal. Ammonium Chloride is excellent reducing agent and clean metal very efficiently in the temperature. Ammonium Chloride creates a fluxing action when it reacts with molten Zinc thus forming a stable melt consisting of Ammonium Chloride and Zinc Chloride.
